Very interesting book. There is a chapter on one of the brother's experiences while flying as Adolf Galland's wingman. Doesn't paint Galland in too good of a light as he lost over a dozen wingmen while at JG26. Mostly, it seems, Galland would leave his partner behind in the dust and they would be picked off easily by RAF pilots. It is a Schiffer, so it is overpriced if bought new and at retail. Since it is a Schiffer, I also expect some editorial flaws but I haven't run across any obvious ones yet.

Looks like those boys were well ahead of their time. It is very fortunate that the German leadership at that time didn't have more time and resources to put to use many of the revolutionary tools that their engineers came up with. Given another few years their technological breakthroughs might have made beating them impossible...

Did anyone see the TV programme where (correct me if I'm wrong, was it the Skunk Works?) that built a full size replica of the Flying Wing to test out its stealth abilities?
Although not completely stealthy,it would have given the Germans a clear advantage when approaching the UK radar network.
Well worth a watch if you can find it guys.

The National Geographic show on the Horten Brothers aircraft was called "Hitlers Stealth Aircraft" and there is still some cool information on the Nat'l Geo website: Hitler's Stealth Fighter They have an article about the same model builders at Northrop Grumman and their efforts: Nat'l Geo Article
For any that have read the book at the start of this thread; does the recent article/show take any "literary license" with the facts from the book? Thanks Derek
