Has anyone had a problem with F4-AF causing a system reboot upon shut down. It's always run very well for my until recently. It started to lock up in mid flight and coupled with some other things caused me to re-format my machine, now after patching to 1.12 or better it causes a system restart after I close it. Any ideas?

Suggest updating graphic card drive. If no joy, reinstall.

Is that XP 32? - might wanna try different graphics drivers as suggested above.
Had no issues with 1.013 on XP 32 SP3

Yea it's XP 32, It ran great for years all of a sudden I'm having trouble, I think its eather a windows or driver problem somewhere else though graphic drivers are making no difference, in addition FF-5.3 crashes it at the end of start-up, and it seems to restart if you try to run multiple processes as well. I'll try a reformat again and then it's off to the computer doctor for a check up.

Many times rebooting can be a sign of lack of power from PS .
Or possibly overheating, make sure PS fan is blowing ok and system is not running hot .
I see you have 2 vids (SLI) to see if its a power issue maybe you can disable 1 card as a test .

Try reinstall driver first .

Walking point
PSU or a memory module, or heat three of the usual culprits.

The problem is that the culprit is very much system dependent and it's hard to diagnose from distance.
In my case the symptom was that in Falcon (and only in Falcon) randomly I suddenly get a reboot in the middle of a flight, without warning or messages, no help by Windows events messages.
Then I followed the usual annoyng routine,: checking RAM, checkdisk HDs,monitoring temperatures, power supply, reinstalling, and finally, if no solutions, buying new hardware.
Luckyly I solved the problem.
In my case , it was an Trust UPS 800 that probably was too loaded.
I mean , the UPS has 3 electric lines out connected/protecting PC , monitor and the third ALL other numberous devices: it worked for some years, but after having completed all HW checks with no results, my last resource was suspecting the UPS.
Then I left only the connection to PC and took out the others : it worked.
In an other case happened to my Wing's mate, same symptoms, but the culprit was a defective Power supply.
Moral is that , if all usual HW checks give no results, your attention should go to your own Electric Power chain: also a defective cable, or the short distance beteween UPS and PC, can be the cause, but these are just examples.

From time to time, F4AF also CTD on my rig. Well then it is time to clean the inside of the PC!
It is easily done with a soft brush and a vacuumcleaner.

Removing the dust from the Graphics card and the motherboard does the trick for me.

Try it out.

Sorry it does not CTD, it causes a reboot when the PC is dirty inside. My mistake.
