ArgonV, I wish you a very happy New Year and bountiful decade. I thank you very much for the gaming advances you have released in 2009, as well as over the past three years.

I particularly appreciated the release of the FS-WWI All In One exe. Loading, launching and maintaing this excellent WWI simulator became much more easy and dependable. Yet I still have residual problems with SDOE. Recently, I found at launch that the main menu theme had reverted to WWI themes in music and screen. While the missions were in tact, the launch process brought out the FS-WWI launch screen where items were counted down for installation, but with a FS-WWI screen.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repair installed SDOE. I have attempted unsuccessfully to install the 1.6.0.6 patch which after at least an hour still can not locate the SDOE exe. or its folder to install. The same is unfortunately true with another setup file that takes forever, and equally without success, to find the target directory.

Thus I ask if SDOE has ever been incorporated into a single executable installer as has FS-WWI. If not, is there a payware version available that incorporates all the files and addons listed in the "simple" installation guide you have published on this site?

Regards,

I downloaded a complete SDOE some time back, on a torrent. Try googling it and see if you can find it.

Hello 5555!

Indeed it does exist. Though it is not 100% up to date. The FS-WWI side of the SDOE DVD is very out of date and some newer WW2 releases have come out.

It sounds like to me the problem is some shorcuts got moved and/or changed. This seems to happen a lot to you? I would recommend going to the WW2 SDOE Patch 1.6.0.6 directory directly and making a shortcut of the App.exe file for WW2 SDOE.

The WW2 SDOE DVD can be found here: http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/30874

Don't install the WW1 things that this has included... They are sadly out of date...

Thank you ArgonV. I am learning Not To 'Mess With Texas', even their software work. Yes, I have amazing and very frustrating (probably self-generated) recurrent problems of files moving or changing without explanation. My love life with CFS3 and particularly its derivative expansions as MAW, ETO or PTO is more life a poor marriage. With them, I even had the configuration "time out", requiring some corrective work to avoid CTDs and flying polygons. In the case of SDOE, I think the program wanted to prove an historic theory that WWII was a continuation of the unsettled ambitions and frustrations of WWI. A Thirty Years War of the 20th century.

I am downloading the SDOE all-in-one. I will probably tag on the accesssory files on your list to ensure completeness. Where can I obtain an "easy to install" 1.6.0.6? Each time I launch from drive root directory (Not the game) I can spend a Texas Winter for the installer to locate a friendly SDOE directly into which to install.

With the All In Ones, as the SDOE DVD you will not need to download and run the 1.6.0.6 Patch. I was just suggesting in my above post you look in your current 1.6.0.6 Patch directory to fix your existing set up. smile

With the above SDOE DVD, be sure you DO NOT install any of the WW1 items it includes. The latest is the FS-WWI Plane Pack 5 All In One EXE.

Remember, hand delete all of your WW2 SDOE files before installing the SDOE DVD above. I would also look for any erroneous 1.6.0.6 Patch directories and delete them as well. Be sure not to over write your FS-WWI All In One install folder. This needs to remain separate.
