yes. 3d is getting big again with new circular polarization technology and digital projection. All of Pixar film's will now be in 3D. The first 3d film of this kind which I saw was "Journey to the Center of the Earth". I have seen "Monster's vs Aliens" and "Up" in 3D also.

BTW, Did you know the original "Creature from the Black Lagoon" was in 3d in the cinema with the old red-blue glasses?

I finally saw the IMAX 3D version of AVATAR this afternoon. Overall, I rate it a solid 7.5/10. The effects were fantastic and the 3D graphics were well done and not overused. I thought the film could have been a little more creative with the storyline. Overall, the film is as good as I expected.

Saw the movie this weekend and enjoyed it. While I have to admit the storyline was a bit of a rehash on Dances with Wolves, I was willing to overlook it as I thought the pros outweighed the cons. If I had the chance I would see it again and I already told the wife we are buying the special edition DVD when it comes out.

So, AVATAR has finally dethroned Titanic as the most grossing (unadjusted) movie of all time, worldwide. Way to go, Mr Cameron.

Adjusted figures as you say paint a very different picture:

It should be noted those are only domestic figures. Worldwide numbers might paint another picture.
