'Just performed my first Ramp Start last night ('just getting into Falcon 4.0) and had a blast! If anyone would have told me a couple of years ago that I would have had such fun spending 20 mins. selecting switches...

Question: at first I wasn't successful when it came to placing the throttle (Saitek X52) in the 'idle position'. When I used the actual throttle - the RPM would not come up.

When I used the keyboard command (Alt - ) everything worked fine.

Is this a function of the game or is there a way to use the actual throttle?

I calibrate every time I 'fly' - and have no similar issues in other sims with the (actual throttle set in an 'idle' position) throttle.

Regards,

I had a problem like this too. For me it was the idle detent. If I used the clickable 2D cockpit lever it was hit and miss (mostly misses). When I use Alt-I keyboard command or a button programmed to do ALT-I, it works everytime. Hope this helps.

Known issue! Once you get into the pit the first thing you need to do before touching any switches is cycle the throttle from idle to full and back to idle. For some reason, under some situations the throttle won't be recognize when entering the cockpit from a cold start.

Yes I get that too, sometimes I even get that when I choose Taxi. The throttle is unresponsive until I move it to its limits.
