Well here are my Great Horned Owl photos that i got this year around the farm and at the Alberta Birds Of Prey Center in CoalDale AB (10 mins east of lethbridge)

This next set i took the family photo (the adult and one owl kid) and then went back to my house for supper, I looked outside and could see the parent flying down the fence line and then i saw the 2 kids following the parent down the fence line, i saw another adult fly over with a gopher and the kids had breakfast with the parent down in the coulie.

looking for its next meal....

The rest where taken at the birds of prey, got a few good shots of a Bald eagle, Barn owl, and borrowing owls.

This owl is 22 years old.

and me and my wife holding "gordon"

as always comments and thoughts are welcome.

Well those are some really outstanding images RCAF! Don't know what it is about birds of prey that fascinates us so, but they sure are interesting subjects. Thanks for the images.

Those are really sweet; birds of prey always look impressive. Have you always had owls around your 'back yard'?

Gopher ya, we moved to this farm back in oct 06, we moved 1200km's from our home areas to find better work, one of the first things i noticed that winter was the owls, but didnt really start to get to see them better till spring 07.

Hmm... do fish get thirsty? I'm not sure. Strange seeing imageshack plastering their ads wherever users post their stuff. That aside, great photos. smile

Huh, and here I thought the 2009 referred to the year instead of the number of photos of birdies posted biggrin

Hehe, nice shots mate. Im quite partial to Owls, they are a lovely looking bird.

Regards

Wow those are great shots Arrow.

I've always been fascinated with birds of prey, had a few great horned owls as pets when I was a teenager, incredible animals, very playful much like a cat. Some of their feathers have been modified so much it's like fur, this is especially true on their legs, talons, and facial disc.

One of our owls would sometimes fly with a purse dangling from its talons.

We often got a laugh when people would come over and want to have our owl sit on their head, as she would generally have a crap on them lol, poop dripping off their head.

Anyways I digress, thanks for sharing those pictures Arrow.
