Hi,Is anybody using these usb monitors for MFD display purposes in Falcon 4 AF.
I have purchased new Thrustmaster MFDs and am thinking about mounting them on the monitors. Im wondering if they have their own software for selecting which part of the screen to display. Anyone know?

I just saw a link on the DCS forums Pit builder section to a Falcon guy that used those screens for the MFD. Check this out: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=777551&postcount=40

or directly here: http://forum.virtualthunderbirds.com/viewtopic.php?t=3096

As Virtual Thunderbirds, we fly Lock-On, so I'm not an expert on Falcon, but I believe Lightning over at Viperpits.org has a utility that will work with the Syncmasters.

As far as software for the Thustmaster MFDs, all I've seen with the current software is the ability to assign button functions from within the sim. Word is they have updates in the works, but have no details.

The Syncmaster U70s are a relatively inexpensive solution, and easy to set up, but keep in mind you lose about 1/4" top & bottom. I don't have my front panel finished yet, but here's a pic from that thread Hitchhikingflatlander referenced.

Sorry but I think you misunderstood my question. I know the MFDs dont come with programming as yet and they are assigned from within the sim software. What Im asking is
a. Do the monitors come with a disk containing drivers and software which allow you to 'select' screen areas from the primary monitor and transfer that area to the usb monitor or
b. Do you have to use a utility such as MFD Extractor?
Thanks and btw, that pic is awesome!

I'm sorry bofman, I did misunderstand...the software for the Samsung monitors is a simple driver that gives you options for rotating, color quality, mirror main display, or extend left, right, above or below. If you are using them for actual MFD display, you will need MFD extractor, and I'm not 100% sure that will work with these, but I bet it does.

This might work with the MFD Extractor in Falcon 4 -- not sure that works in AF however, would need to check that.

My question would be the resolution and how it might work with other sims like FSX and DCS BS. You might want to fly the F-16 in FSX or use the pit for other jets, in other sims, etc. With FSX I think the additional monitors have to be at least 1024x768 in order drag panels/intruments, etc. onto it while flying in windowed mode. I have a couple of 10.4" LCD monitors with 800x600 resolution and I just ran into that obstacle.

The only resolution option for the U70 is 800 x 460

Still lots to do, but here's a couple work in progress pics with the U70's in place...
