Yeah, not exactly a 'wimpy' laptop.

Sorry, it seems wimpy to me, mostly in the video department. Every other game I've tried on it was unplayable, and the system can't keep up with some HD video streams I've tried to watch on it.

Here's what one review site said about the X3100 video it uses:
Quote:
If you're going to game even casually on your laptop, unfortunately, I don't think the X3100 can be settled for. While technically the hardware is there, it's not worth gambling on it, hoping that eventually Intel will magically make it suck less. There just aren't any guarantees.

That pretty much matched my experience except for Gunship!, which is why I was surprised it ran so well. Maybe the Windows 7 drivers fixed some issues (I haven't tried any of the other games after I installed Windows 7).

OK, maybe this will qualify as wimpy. I installed it on an Acer netbook, and it ran fine there, too, but under XP and not Windows 7.

Here are the specs:

Processor
Intel® Atom™ Processor N270
(512KB L2 cache, 1.60GHz, 533MHz FSB)

Chipset Mobile Intel® 945GSE Express

Memory 1GB DDR2 533 SDRAM

Storage 160GB* hard drive

Video 10.1" WSVGA (1024 x 600) TFT LCD, Acer® CrystalBrite Technology
Up to 262,000 colors
LED backlight
Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
