Hi flieger

Sorry to hear the AVG fix didn't work for you. I still think the culprit is AVG 9.0.

I have four il2 installs: 4.08m, 4.09m, 4.08+UI1.1 and 4.09+HFSX4 and have a number of DGen campaigns going on in each. I've probably had a few DGen errors in six years, but after upgrading from AVG 8.5 to ver. 9.0 I got the "DGen.exe has encountered a problem..." error after every DGen mission in all four installs. Never had a problem with 8.5

I've done about 40 or so DGen missions since uninstalling AVG9, and have had zero errors. Kind of makes me think AVG is responsible and not DGen.exe.

I've used FSautostart, but I wonder if some part of AVG (Resident Shield?) stays resident in memory regardless.

Anyway, hope things work out for you.

Hi again Ramone + flieger

I tried the method as suggested, didn't work for me either. I uninstalled AVG 9 tried a couple of dgen missions, all seemed to work as it should.
I've now gone over to Avira AV, hope this works ok with dgen, fingers crossed.

Thanks again guys.

Hi Ramone & Dave,

Last night I flew some missions in a campaign using Lowengrin's DCG...everything went OK. I'll continue on in the campaign tonight and see if I get any errors.

It certainly seems that AVG 9.0 is the culprit. I don't believe it's 4.09M DGEN since if it was, the forums would be flooded with posts about it.

I may look into a different anti virus program to replace AVG...hate to do that though, been using AVG for years.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi flieger,

If I could have found the AVG vers.8 or 8.5, I would have reverted to that too.
I've used AVG for yonks, and didn't want to change, but I found a forum with a lot of complaints about vers.9. on many applications. So it's not just us flight simmers.
Anyway, fingers crossed.

Regards Dave.

Ok, someone has to point this out.

1. This thread seems useless because no one from Maddox or Dadelous (sp?) has commented on any post.

Tolwyn, have faith.

Some things have already been sorted by the community. cheers

Also, the original post was by Martin from Dadelous. I assume {hope} they read this thread.

I uninstalled AVG 9.0 and reinstalled AVG 8.5. Flew about 5 missions and got the same DGEN error msg. Going to leave AVG off the system and see what happens. Not a happy camper.

Cheers,
Scott

Well... we read it. But so far there is not much in here, that we can take care of (i.e. AVG issues).
Some of the problems are because of 'not reading readmes'. Others ( especcially on first page) are taken seriously into account. We are looking for 'real' bugs, that WE build in with 4.09.

So far there have been few ... much less, that we silently expected. smile

Regards,
Caspar

Hi Caspar,

I think you may have misunderstood my lastest post (and I guess I could have phrased it better). I did not mean to imply that I was not a happy camper due to a fault of DGEN, that was some venting directed towards AVG. I merely posted it since other people had posted having problems with AVG and just wanted to let them know that the rolling back to AVG v8.5 "fix" did not work...at least in my case.

Cheers,
Scott

Yes I know, and I was in fact answering Dave01. smile
I wanted to give a feedback, as indeed there is low answering from our side.
Thats because its rather an information/collection thread for us, than a discussion thread.
We take the infos we need from it(and from other forums as well) and work with it.
So on the other side we don't touch topics, that do not belong to our work.
