You know what? 4.09m stock/official runs great. Loads fast. Is compatible with everyone else running 4.09m. Doesn't require another 20gigabytes of disk space.
While the mods are great, and I've certainly had my bit of fun with them, I'll happily go back to running stock. And save myself a lot of headaches in the process.

Wrong. This thing is nice.. it loads up in @ 30 seconds on average.. as opposed to 2:35 seconds for the UI 1.2.. it has just about every mod there is that is worth anything.. and if you dont like something you can always add what you like.. It is fully compatible with 4.09m and for 4.09mM servers running CRT 2 it is a simple matter to set it up with the JSGME configurator From my understanding there isnt much difference between this and HSFX.. and correct me if I am wrong but the mods dont have to be an exact match.... just certain key mods.. and hash files...

Many times I have all my coop slots filled in HL, but when I launch the game, I find that only half of them actually joined...because of compatibility issues. No matter how much I advertise the version I am running, this seems to happen quite often these days. You can have the best mods in the world, but if players are having problems joining eachother's games, what good are they?
With each new Super-Duper Mod Pack that is released, the online compatibility issues get worse.
Of course, if you don't play online, everything I just said means nothing to you. I understand that.
At this point, I host mostly 4.09m online. There are a lot less headaches for everyone involved.

I think that with the merger of HSFX and AAA and the move towards building these things with compatibility it is just a matter of time till these issues get resolved.. and that will be sooner rather than later... as for the QMB according to the readme..

Features that have been Dropped from UP 1.8

QMB+

The 4.09 full release comes with a more developed version (also by FC) with more features , so i used this one..

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This thing is best done on a clean install...

IMO one reason for all the incompatibility issues is that people are still flying 4.08m & 4.09b1m.. why? I hope that in a week or 2 that everyone will be running 4.09m or 4.09mM ... Server admins are just as culpable in the mod confusion as the mods themselves.. I have no doubt that this will all get worked out.

Hi, i installed this but the 4.09 planes like the sm79 and fokkers are listed but they do not show up in the window or in game. Any fix? 4.09 was instaled before applying this 1.8 mod. thx.

That's correct. That is a known bug of Ultrapack 1.8
A patch is in work. Nobody knows if and when it might be released.

Don't ruin your UP 1.8 installation with an unofficial patch as you won't be able to join CRT=2 servers then.

I've been flying some Battle of Britain Campaign missions with the Ultrapack 1.8 and the RRR mod has really given some life to the sim for me. You quickly run out of ammo flying the early Hurricanes so its nice to be able to land and rearm and still get back up intime to catch the bomber stream on its way back from the target or assest other Huricanes being set upon by 109's. Its all great fun and very immersive.

I've just reinstalled 1946, patched it with 4.09m, and loaded UP1.8. I don't see a RRR patch in the JSGME nor do I have a Battle of Britain Campaign (i'll look for the download). I've also been stymied by trying to get the "Corea" mod to run (well, even to just show up would be great!) and have posts elsewhere regarding that. I guess i'm waaay behind the curve after taking a bit of a break from flight sims! Any help is greatly appreciated.

No RRR mod,I think that is the first one in the JSGME.exe list. Its called zuti moving dog fight or some such thing. It works offline but you can not hear any of your flights radio calls. This will be fixed oneday. If you want you can turn the radio call back on in FMB.
