Okay, for Black Shark, if I were to use modes (another one mode kind of guy), here's what I do with them:

Mode One:
Engine start-up/shut down.

Mode Two:
Fly and fight - locking up targets, Shkval operations, etc.

Mode Three:
Nav and communications - instructing wingmen, programming waypoints, etc.

Mode Four:
Emergency procedures - fire extinguishers, fuel cutoff, engine restart, eject, etc.
