Another remake down the pipe:

The original had little if anything to do with the mythology, a film that has 'titans' in it should have the pre-Olympian pantheon. I wasn't particularly enthused for Athena's avatar made into a clockwork mechanical owl.

On the other hand Seems though you can't make a movie these days without frenetic sped up film- it looks like it would be another clone of any other movie- 300, The Scorpion King, Transformers shoehorned into mythology. The armor is way wrong for that period. And of course, the players don't look Mediterranean.

It looks like a fun popcornflick. Thats all I ask from Hollywood smile

If I want something authentic about the greek mythology, I figure the greeks sooner or later might make something worthwhile.

I want some serious tragedy- full hardcore bloody, perverted, rated MA pagan myths. I'm kind of over the cartoon violence and roughshod treatment of the myths.

So...when was the last time you watched a film produced by a Greek studio?

To be honest, no idea if I've ever watched a greek movie. So they might have made one without me knowing smile

I wouldn't know. It's all just "Greek" to me. biggrin

Speaking of Clash of the Titans, I actually like the original movie quite a bit. I thought the cast was very good, especially Burgess Meredith and of course Lawrence Olivier. The stop-motion animation and special effects were quite cheesy and fake looking but the story itself was good.

Clash was a great flick and I love stop motion. Ray Haryhausen is just plain awesome. May have been a Hollywood interpretation, but then changing names/stories is hardly a new thing for Greek myths.

Should've mentioned The Odyssey in that mini-series thread, that was pretty well done for the budget and being on tv.
