Pronunciation:
You ad-mahr, not ad-my-erh?
We're both right I'd say.
You might be from Oklahoma IF:
People from Sweden correct your English pronunciation, LOL!
Actually, Immermann is not the first person from a country with a different language to correct my English. Afrikaans-speaking Mrs. Sauron (Afrikaans is a dialect of Dutch), began correcting my English almost immediately after we met, LOL! These days, though, she generally ignores my dire and mostly deliberate mispronunciations. I bought her a Roy D. Mercer CD so she could learn the local lingua franca better, though. She's finally beginning to understand that Americans consider butchering the language a sort of art form. Although I'm not sure on this "admire" issue.
So, let's see a show of hands. Is it "ad-mahr" or "ad-my-er" when pronouncing the word "admire"? Be careful how you vote, or I'll have to correct a haiku for the first time ever! But I do admahr Immermann for catching that one, LOL!
Cheers!
Rick...
