It's rather difficult for our Russian-based developers to keep everyone up to date with progress so I'm going to stick my neck out of the NDA carapace, tortoise me Smile2

I haven't known a game or sim to have such dedicated developers, they built the sim as flight-sim fans and that's a bit unusual

A plethora of fixes and enhancements on the way then (and not just for our Greek friends) and by Christmas we'll be well on the way to our flight-sim home between the ocean and the sky Rod.

We can never reach the horizon but it's not that far away now. Around 4.5 to 5 miles at sea level depending on how tall you are. And in UK how old you are yes Smile2

I'm old enough to remember the long-lost Looking Glass sim-builders and Flight Unlimited

This one is giving me that same feeling of the wide unlimited spaces, the resonant and romantic placenames and that Olympian view of the world seen from height.

We're going to need an ant model Harry (usual small prize)

Ming

Ahhh Flight unlimited what a leap forward that was with photorealistic scenery (only Malard SF and Wash had it before them for Fs4) and decent FMs. I have the same excitement with ROF that I had with FU at the time. Keep it up NEOQB.

Cheers

I remember seeing Flight Unlimited review in PC mags and thinking "I wonder if I'll ever afford a PC that can run that sim?". Things sure have improved since then... Sim development AND my economy. wink FU1 also has one of the coolest manuals ever written for a sim! I love that illustration "Planes are heavy, they don't flap their wings, there's no alien wizardry involved - So what makes aircraft stay in the air?"

Hearing someone compare Neoqb with Looking Glass pleases me...

Ugh! I remember supporting those titles (mainly III) back in the day!

Quite right Ming!

I remember Flight Unlimited very well. It actually ran very smooth on my PC at the time, something that was unheard of AND with the fantastic terrain (okay, about 2x2 miles and repeated forever) AND great physics AND remember the wings of the glider actually bent with G-forces??? The same thing happened with the top wing of ... (forgot which biplane!) when the strut broke. Gently pulling and pushing the stick lifted the top wing up and down and I was at the time reminded of Looking Glass's jewel! smile

I actually still have the box and CD on my shelf here...

Pitts Special was the plane and I was in love with that sim..I was building planes for FS but flying FU. It did run great on both my average pc's and little 14 inch monitor. I was also playing Desent at the time and that also ran great on average pc's.

Thanks for ray of sunshine Ming, I know the devs love this game as we do and that is why I am here looking forward to more coolness to come. As a modler I am in awe of the work put into the models and sometimes just let the planes fly around in auto while I zoom in on all the detail and such.

Never was so much owed by so many to so few...(which could be interpreted several ways in this case... wink )

The evolution of RoF is a constant source of delight. At least for me!

If not home, at least right around the block.
