This is the flightsim chair I built for all kinds of flight simming. Currently the sim that has my attention is Rise of Flight.

I like it. How well does a car seat do for your simming? Is it pretty comfortable?

I bet the ejection pull under the seat even works! Nice job. I wonder why there aren't any mountable platforms like you have there made for desk chair arms? Seems like there would be a market for that if there are people making $1000 chair/frame set ups.

It's very comfortable! I can sit in it for hours. It's made from a minivan seat that I got from a junkyard for $50

The first chair I made had fixed position armrests and it tore up my desk something fierce. These armrests that I made fold up out of the way when I do regular stuff on the computer.

And yes the ejection seat does work! Actually it disconnects it from the base.

How did you fasten your custom arm rests to the chair? Also, where did you get those nifty elbow bumper thingamagiggies? I love simpit stuff like this. It gives me ideas.

I replaced the armrests that came on the chair with what you see. I made them myself out of oak. The elbow rests are simply gel wristpads that you would use with a mouse. I think I got them at an Office supply store.

I have a whole series of pictures of the process of making this chair if you would like to see them.

Sure Shank I'd like to see them. Especially how you made your platform to accept and to allow the car seat to be locked down. You might post it in the pit builders forum though. That way it'd be archived in there.

Looks real comfortable, but aren't the stick and throttle a bit close to your body like this? I would've made the arm rests some 15-20 centimeters longer (I guess at least).
