Battle of Britain II, single player campaign

If you want to be just another pilot, you can fly as wingman to whoever you choose, eg in 54 squadron with Leatheart and Al Deere in a Spit Ia, or 242 squadron at Duxford with Douglas Bader in a Hurricane, (though you can choose any squadron you wish).

The AI has different skill levels for each member of a flight, and AI pilots gain skill as they gain experience.

Morale plays a part though too, so it is important if you are flying wingman to your squadron leader that you keep him alive. If you lose your CO, your squadron morale will drop, and skill levels along with it.

Fly well and you'll help Britain win. Lose too many of your pilots, and your unit will be withdrawn 'for a rest'.

The game automatically keeps track of every mission you fly, your claims, and those of your squadron, in your log book. You can enter your own combat report notes in the logbook after each mission as well.

Many players post their single player campaign combat notes and they make for entertaining reading. You can see an example here:

It gives you a good flavour of what the single player campaign is like.

Cheers

H
