Strictly speaking, no it's not good.
That much money became concentrated in the hands of a few. Now you may say it goes to the stock holders and there are lots of them. True, but only a few have significant holdings and a fecking boatload of it when to their jackbooted CEO who can choke on it for all I care. These two parties amass fortunes and generally don't spend it so it becomes idle money. It used to be that customers dictated the direction of the industry. Now the money has gotten so incredibly large that the robber barons are taking over management of the publishers and distributors and dictating terms to us.
I know my refusal to purchase the travesty that is MW2 is nothing to them, but it's everything to me. I won't support them now and I will be openly rooting for their failure if this is the path that they are going to follow in in the future.
We got hosed and 10 million people didnt even realize it and alot of them took it with a smile, too.
