What kind of frame rates are you guys getting when ground pounding. Ive done a reinstall and upgrade to 1.8 with and am now basically reevaluating my performance and settings. And I kinda need to get an idea of when to stop.

Im getting 35-45fps at 1000m (45-60 at high alt.) and 20-25fps on the deck with about a 2 second drop to 14-15fps when somthing blows up in my center vision when on the deck. This is on the Pacific islands and NW Europe maps. Solvakia strangly I can keep 20+ fps even durring heavy action. The game dosnt seem to stutter though even though the frame rate drops like this.

Id like to keep my frames abouve 24 fps at minimum but not sure its possible or worth it. So Im curious about other folks miliage?

Specs PIV 3.2ghz 800mhzfsb, 2GB ram, Nvidia7950GT 512mb,SBAudigy WINXP
Settings 1600x1200, Perfect, water 2,visablity distance 3

Thanks, I need to get some sleep.

Change that to 0 for a boost, turns off shadows for smoke if I recall correctly.

Thanks, I went in and that did help alot,I was afraid turining it to 0 would eliminate bomb effects but it dosnt and frankly I did not notice the lack of shadows cast by expolsions. On Okinawa Im now getting 24-30fps on the deck in heavy combat but on Pacific islands it still drops to 15 for a second.

Im still interrested to know what frame rates others are getting now with 4.09m and the new mods and computer rigs, for comparison sake. Most of the frame rate threads are now old and not comparable with IL2 today. I think my rig is pretty dated now (late 2005) but its hanging in there since I got the 7950GT. I may get a new card if anyone thinks it can make an improvement.

But with Dualcore and 1600mhzFSB and 4 gig machines that are common now can any of you run IL2 full out and keep up your frame rates?

Record a track and host it someplace, I'll download it and let you know what fps I get.
