When one presses Ctrl+F8, one can see enemy aircraft, as the manual says, "in the area."
My question is, what does "in the area" apply to? Even friendly aircraft are viewed in a similar fashion as far as I can tell. Does "in the area" refer to aircraft 0-30 Nm in front of you, or does it refer to all aircraft around you? What are the limits, if you will?

Well, that question came to my mind once or twice while playing Falcon over a decade but my curiosity must have faded out since I've never tried to find out the answer till now.

That's mainly I don't use external view except occasional A2G weapon to target view when I can't wait to find out till the debrief.
