Got a bit of a late birthday present from my GF:

A Junkers chronograph in the famous "Ju-52" corrugated sheet design. Nice surprise, especially for someone like me who loves those classic aircrafts of the 30s/40s. And I'm a real sucker for mechanical watches too, love the craftsmanship in those little marvels in the digital age.

Me is happy.

Suh-weet!

What sort of movement does it have?

I am also a fan of mechanical watches. Right now I'm wearing a 1961 Omega Constellation. I desperately want an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, though I'm going to have to hold off on that until I finish flight school. Priorites suck sometimes biggrin

It uses the russian Poljot 3133 movement (based on the Valjoux 77...forgot :D) )and which is set up quite nicely by Junkers. So far I'm pretty happy with the accuracy.

The Omega watches are very nice. Just their prices aren't.

Yes, yes, Russian, it very good! In Soviet Russia, watch wears YOU! biggrin

Yeah, Omegas are sort of expensive. There are two watches I am going to buy at some point. One is the Speedy, the other is the Tag Heuer Monaco with a blue dial, like the one Steve McQueen used to wear smile

Beautiful watch.

I'm in the market for a dress watch. I want something classy but not flashy, this might do the trick.

That is a great looking watch Para. I really love the mechanical and retro design.

Tell your girlfriend she has great taste in gifts! biggrin

Beauty! I used to have some fancy Swiss watch that made me look civilized. Had a sweep second hand and all. It met its doom in Africa. Nowadays, I wear a Seiko Skyhawk and have a Seiko diver's watch in the drawer in case I have to do anything involving lots of water.

Cheers!

Rick... wink

I think about buying a Citizen Eco-Drive watch, runs off sunlight. I want the radio controlled one. Good to know you always have the right time, from the atomic clock in Frankfurt... The designs are a bit messy though...

I find that to be so odd though because since when are Germans known to be punctual people? wink
