Thanks for the article. It's interesting that you chose to disable UAC; I bet a lot of other users go the same route as you. Seems like UAC is a real attempt by MS to increase the security of their OS but it will be sabatoged by many users. We won't want to deal with the hassle after the bad habits we (myself included) developed from earlier Windows where running with restricted permissions was nearly impossible in a home environment.
I also work on mac and linux machines where the equivalent of UAC is effective (not perfect) and not really a hassle at all. Has it gotten to this acceptable level in W7 or is it still the nagging mother-in-law it was reputed to be in Vista?
