von Kinderei,
See if you have these folders or copy paste this in you browser:

C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins
If you have a 64 bit system then it would be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins

Have you been in your ROF directory? Is it where I posted above?
Can't understand why they don't show unless they're not in the right place.
Keep me posted.
Thanks again everone for the kind words and enjoying the skins! Glad to share. Smile2

I'm running WIN XP PRO ...

Thats the path I have ( C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins )

The skins NEVER show up in play and the skins folder will disappear after awhile not sure WHY or WHERE it goes to

It's got my puzzled ... ALSO in the TECH SUPPORT area I posted about tryin' the SST program and it doesn't work either ... it went through the motions and I thought that would work just fine but when I select a skin file it's link is orange and not green and that goes for ALL the skin links and none will show up in play ... I did find that the SST folder is in this path ( C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\textures\sst )

I recently D/L'd the Jasta 5 skin pack ... the skin folder seems to be in ( C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins ) which is the correct path but as usual none of the skins will show up

vK ~

Hmmm. this is strange.
When you open up your skins folder, does it show the folders for the planes?
fokkerd7, albatrosd5, se5a etc. The folders should have no caps in their name.
I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Here's some more WIP. I may need help with this one.

Another Jasta 11 almost done.
I've learned that the number is Dr.1 502/17.
I decided to try out the early streight cross applyed over the Iron cross. This could have been around early March 1918.
Some info says there is no red band around cockpit area. Any help or profiles welcome.
I don't have much info on this plane. Here's some pics.

Whoa, that's spectacular!

And I was going to be really proud to show my DVa in our squadron "Wacher" colors:

Yes the folders for the planes are in there and so are the files for each plane ... the folders have NO caps in ANY of them

Hold up a second, guys - those folders aren't there by default - or at least they weren't for me.

I had to make the appropriate folder for the first skin I downloaded.

The skin sharing tool makes them for one, which is an easy way to make sure they're in the right place with the right name.

Correct ... I did make the first " SKINS " folder and then the individual plane folders

I still have no planes showin' up in play with the appropriate skin I want

Really REALLY pisses me off that I can't seem to get it to work and I'm the only one thats EVER had this problem

Hmmm, the only thing I can think is the folder is "read only." Check the properties of the darned thing and see if that isn't it.

Or, you're like me and put the stupid thing in the wrong place. Sigh. I have two skins folders, and am still uncertain which one is the right one so I update both.

It's like I posted above. The correct place is....
C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins.
Then in the skins folder is the names of each plane.
Yes you have to create folders cause they're not there by default that is why on my downloads I made the folders for you.
In von kinderei's case, it's still not working for him. Like you said Dart, about the read only thing. Could be something as simple as that.
If he has XP pro is it 64 bit?
I have XP Pro 64 bit and my ROF directory is in C:\Program Files (x86).
Something else to check into.
