I guess I've missed a file I should have found or something, but with all of the campaigns/squadrons, I'm usually winging it to find the aircraft I want to take up. Hit and miss, obviously. Looking at the year helps, but not perfect.
Is there an organized list to know what to look for?

I've had this for over a year and I like it a lot, just the right level of sim that I like and it's got most of my favorite aircraft. Give me and F-15E, F-16, A-7, F-86 and I'm about set--which I see in some mods I'm excited about.

I'm interested in the NATO and Desert Storm mods but I know that will complicate things even more for me. Any advice is appreciated, I'm still learning this game after all of this time but I'd like to get a lot more involved with it and what it can do.


Piggyback question:
Should I buy the newer version? I've been running on Vista and Win7 with the tweaks to get it to run, but if it's been significantly updated graphically (mainly environmental) that would interest me. I've read viewpoints going either way. Does it come with more documentation like I'm looking for here?

I am running XP not Vista so I'm not sure what the difference would be.
All the people in the know recommend the new sims for Vista and 7. TK has modded them just for those operating systems.
Combatace has a fantastic knowledge base for new people.

Yeah, I've been looking around there and a couple of other sites but not much luck. It's nice that there is so much community information on these things, but on the other hand there is *so much information out there* that it makes it hard to find some basic stuff.
This might even be in the game files but I haven't seen it.

Wondering if UnitID is what I'm looking for but I need to match that to what the unit flies in that era?
I feel like I'm missing something obvious since I don't see anyone else discussing this. LOL

Well, what I'm finding in the .ini's isn't complete so I'm missing some things that must be elsewhere or I'm looking in the wrong areas all together. LOL
I'm going to start putting this together. If anyone has this info already, please let me know! I'll put this up if/when I get it finished.
