Hi all

I know you guys have updated a while ago, but I'm playing offline only so I had no need... I see some reports about stability or GFX problems with 1.04, currently I'm still running 1.02.

Any negative experience with 1.04, or all fine with it?

I always use the latest, due to multiplayer requirements. No problems here.

I'm even running the latest beta releases. These don't foul your patched version (they use different .exe's), you get to see the latest improvements, so far the latest beta is compatible with our dedicated running 1.04, and the beta doesn't require a DVD check.

1.04 is excellent. The following betas are more so. It is madness to keep using 1.02.

Well James, normally I would agree with you, but seeing how some people report GFX/Texture/Stutter problems... for example the "douple rendering of shoreline bug" which drops framerate was introduced 1.04, wasn't it?

Adlabs, I might even give the beta a try. No DVD check is nice.

I get the shoreline stutter. Even with the beta. No big deal IMO, as it's only an issue when I seeing LOTS of shore, like from an aircraft. Just walking on the shore I see no issue.

I agree w/adlabs. 1.04 is fine. For SP gameplay, there were some good AI fixes that reduced their hearing sbility to something more realistic. This made my night spec op missions 10X more enjoyable. And in the latest beta, AI formations stay with their leader in a more useful way.

I can really recommend the latest beta build 60141.
It fixed so many problems since 1.04 that I cant count them and is very good regarding overall performance, with a significant better performance in towns.

also it improves the steering of vehicles and brings analog controll to airplanes and rotorcrafts.

I have that one downloaded already, it's going in tomorrow. Seems if I want to keep playing offline, I can stick with the latest beta before 1.05 and spare me the disk requirement that way. I wonder if once 1.05 is out and installed, it would still be possible to run the last beta before from a shortcut.

Just hope the game update with 1.05 will be smooth, the beta for 1.01 resulted in some scary error messages after applying the full patch.

There is no need for keeping offline...all betas are fully compatible with 1.04
In fact a lot of servers do not run the 1.04 patch but the latest beta.
