I cant get the "No Service Provider" to switch out to Internet in the MP options. It just stays the same at nsp.
Isnt there something else that has to happen before you can change that? Its just been so long since I had to go through this.

Thanks,
GLB

Um, yeah. Did that many times. Just keep spopping up same thing. NSP .

I thought I have a gray memory of another "switch" or something to set in order to get it to switch over. I checked .ini file and replaced it with another working .ini. Renewed game.cfg. All the usual stuff.
Internet connection fine. I can MP on IL2 with no trouble. All firewalls/AV down temporary in order to test.
Something within game.
Thanks for the though,

GLB

Check whether you have network capability in DirectX. If DirectPlay is hosed for some reason, no MP is possible. Run the dxdiag app and check the network tab.

Can you change your joystick settings or flight dynamics in the other menus?

The No Service Provider field is like all the rest. It does not automatically detect your settings, so it won't change on its own. You change it manually. All the rectangular boxes to the right of whatever setting you want to change should "highlight" as soon as you put the mouse cursor over the word or existing setting. If the "No Service Provider" doesn't light up a brighter white when you mouse over, something is wrong with your installation. If it does highlight, just click it as Kurtz has said, and it will cycle to the next available setting. Some setting changes will take a few seconds longer when clicked, but usually respond within 3-5 seconds.

I have a grip on how it SHOULD work. But when I click on it, it just flashes (yes brighter white) and returns to the same NSP. Yes, every other option in the game is programmed. All GUI's work fine. I still cant install the 8600 (from another thread), but it runs on the on board video without a whole lot of trouble. I'll get a email off to HP regarding the recommended vid card for this particular model. It surely doesn't like the Nvidia 8600. Perhaps the on board video wants to work with an ATI.

Jab, rgr, I'll check that. But I connect to every other online game ,(4 at least), that is installed on the computer. I kind of figure DX is working fine. But I'll check to be sure.
All else fails I'll re-install.

tks,
GLB

Is your modem/router connected via usb? if so I'd try unplugging your other inputs such as your flight gear, trackIR etc and see if EECH can detect your modem or network card. Might be a hardware conflict?
