Yes. Quite true.
The only French Historian I read about the war was Marc Ferro. I surely should read more French and German historians, but my French is poor and the German is worst.

there is not much stuff from german historians - germany has grown into an unhistoric community, very sad

i´ve found the books from Peter Hart very interesting:

especialy "aces falling" and "bloddy april" - and 1918 for the ground war; there are many accounts from british and german soldiers, recommended thumbsup

seems we read the same books Boelke smile
those two are great;
there are also two great ones from Peter Kilduff, one about the Red Baron and one titled "Black Fokker Leader", the biography of Carl Degelow;
and there is "On a Wing and a Prayer" by Joshua Levine;

oh and not to forget Jon Guttman who has written many good WW1 aero themed volumes fo Osprey......

Use it.

Anyone offended by it is an idiot, or is deliberately looking for something to be offended by.

Well said. As a Southerner I find it not offensive at all.
