I was having a hell of a time with the "Take Down" mission, and to get through it, I eventually lowered the difficulty (mid mission) to regular and then to recruit.

Am I correct that there's no way now to increase it back up for the rest of the missions? If so, I guess I'll have to finish the campaign and then go back and play it again at a higher level at some point...

I saw the option there but never tried it. I finsihed it once on regular then restarted on veteran, I'm on Takedown right now and it's tough.
