Hi guys,

I know we have been letting Thursdays slip for the last few weeks. I have been ridiculously busy with school lately, however tonight I've caught a break and want to blow stuff up. I'm on TS right now but nobody else is. If you guys wanna do anything - missions or Domination - I'm game.

I'll hang around on TS for a little while longer before I wander off to do something else.

I came on TS but I guess you were AFK Fatty.

Could we turn TT into a small missions night? We could play some missions if we could get a small hardcore group together.

The server being empty 6 nights out of seven is a real waste.
My friends server, which is public and in England, is full every night (32) players, in fact they run 2 servers now. Of course the missions are Domination type missions. What if the server was open to the public but passworded for 2 or 3 nights a week?
Just trying to think how we could attract some players to the server.

I'm just now getting back to my PC, or I'd have been on TS tonight.

It has always amazed me that SimHQ has thousands of members but so few play a sim combat game.

Well Thursday nights hardly ever work out for me to join a game but I am also a bit burned out on Arma. I've been playing it at least once a week (usually more) for the better part of 2 years and it has grown a bit stale to me. That's also why I haven't really made very many missions so far for Arma 2.

Does it matter what missions we play on thursdays ?
Do we wanna divert players to other servers than SimHQ's ?

As long as we show up there will be TT's
but it needs to be held to schedule with atleast a forum thread posted days in advance, where we can discuss our TT plans.

Same goes for military mondays, or any other event

On any night we run as a serious night, we always play coop missions.

We actually used to have regular Friday or Saturday play days, where players would play EVO or Domination. These were great fun, and seemed to vanish with ArmA1. Too bad, as I miss those days sometimes. Lots of good times with friends in those sessions.

Magnum is the official admin for Tactical Thursdays, and he's been busy with real life lately. Fatty or myself sometimes fill in, where possible. Fatty is busy with his school/work I think, and my own schedule for ArmA2 is now all about Monday, since I spend so much time in the editor outside of admin duty.

I'm hoping to return to evening gaming soon... but due to circumstances beyond my control with my daughter and work I'm busy most nights.

We will NOT open the server to the public, but I'm all for allowing a change of pace or mission type based on Fatty's and Adlabs advice and feedback.

For me, I will remain gone from the server for a while longer... I do hope to make a return, and definitely want to return when the add-on is released, but hopefully long before that...

Without going into too much detail about my life... I may be out of a job in a few weeks or so... if that happens then gaming for me will come to a complete stop, and so will my service here at SimHQ... as these things usually go based on statistics... financial ruins within 3 months, then divorce (because of the stress and situation) within 6 months... so needless to say, gaming is not a priority in my life right now, job security is.

If there are no players playing on the server, it doesn't matter what missions are on there.

Hopefully with the 1.05 patch (which seems like it will fix a lot of issues people have been having) we'll see some increase in players.

@Magnum: hope everything works out Mag

Ditto. Doesn't sound like much fun.

I miss those too. I was talking to Xrok the other day about putting some Evo missions on his server and I think he found 3 of them. I played two of them Wednesday night and I thought the one called EVO-Blue something was the best of the two. There were lots of options to setup before starting the mission, such as turning on/off ranks, enemy troop strength, starting town, and several others. I'm not sure yet what my weekend plans are but if possible I would like to play Evo. Anyone else?

I would definately be up for some Evo this weekend.

I've kinda been dropping off the radar this semester since school started, but now that the semester has quieted down quite a bit I am planning on being on every monday and thursday at least.

I do miss all of the Evo fun we used to have with Arma 1, dunno why but Arma 2 doesn't seem to be as much fun with domination or warfare. I used to play warfare and domination with my roommate all the time in Arma 1, havent touched it in months with Arma 2.

We don't have the EVO mission on the ArmA2 server do we? Just Domintation? Would you guys like to try EVO, I'll find it if so. Probably wouldn't hurt anyway.

There are 3 different versions on Xrok's server ATM. I didn't think putting EVO on the official server was a good idea. If it is on Xrok's we can leave it running and come back to it later if/when we don't finish it.

Plus Magnum hates it. biggrin

My work schedule has been almost identical for the last 6 weeks, which frees up Monday night but locks out Thursdays. The server fluctuates, we've done this before...

Although, I will admit, I'm really interested in exploring the flight simulation online community at the moment.

XRoK's server is better for the Evo/Domination type games because he leaves it running non-stop. Some games have lasted for over a week without being restarted, which is nice when you mass a nice collection of vehicles from the secondary missions. Thanks, XRoK.
