I finished the SP campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 yesterday, it took me 7 hours of play time, 3 days... today I downloaded the PC version from Steam and played the complete campaign in 5 hours strait, lol...

Here is the ending photo from the first Modern Warfare, and then from Modern Warfare 2:

Cool...

You can really see the improved amount of detail in the characters there. There's a lot improved the graphics even if it's subtle.

The lighting is amazing in the new engine, especially the rim lighting.

and there is a pretty big spoiler in there...

Click to reveal..

it has a big mustache

One of the BIG improvements in the game (and it will probably be taken for granted by many) is the animations. There must be a LOT of extra frames of animation added because I think the character move even better and more realistic than they did in CoD4. Kudos to IW for the improvement, the movement is fluid and looks completely natural the majority of the time.

So how is the single player? Same length as COD4?

It took me 9 hours to finish CoD4 on the default difficult).

CoD:MW2 took me only 5.5 hours to complete on default difficulty.

At first I was very disappointed with the brevity of the singleplayer portion of the game. But, I'm assuming the extra effort went into making the Spec-Ops portion of the game and for that I'd say it was an acceptable trade-off. The Spec-Ops portion of the game has been a BLAST to play.

Took my son 4.5 hours to play and he said re playability is 0. He hasn't started the Spec-Ops yet.
His overall impression is that he was starring in a movie not playing a game LOL.

I noticed that the enemies aren't always the same in number and don't do the same things during my many deaths playing veteran so that's a good thing for the campaign, 4 didn't do that. It is short, took me 6 hours on regular and now I'm playing veteran. With spec ops though there's a lot of extra content that's not adversarial multiplayer.

The new multiplayer maps are nice, much larger and more complex than 4. Where 4 would have 4 enterable buildings and maybe a roof top or second story window here or there MW2 maps have buildings, doors, windows, rooftops, balconies, etc. out the wazoo.

4.5 - 5 hours? wow...

What is the spec-ops bit?

I went into Game today to get the Dragons Age strat guide and saw that the price of MW2 has gone up to £40!!! £40 for a PC game of limited replay and so short... I see online that the RRP is actually £45!!!! What the hell is going on? It came out at £35 and now they put the price UP?

I see it's No1 seller across the board and it's worrying that it's priced like this (I won't start on all the stuff it's missing that SHOULD be in it), I hope others don't follow suit or I will stop buying PC games full stop.
