...and it's been over a year!!!
If one of the Admins from the A2A Simulations Forum frequent this forum, could the account for 12AMS be activated?
Since I cannot ask the following question in said forum, I'll ask it here...
Buddye (or anyone else who may have empirical knowledge of the topic), I plan on upgrading my computer and I was wondering what contributes more to BoBII's performance: the number of CPU cores, or the CPU clock speed.
Since the Minister of Finance (aka, the wife) keeps me at a paltry budget for upgrades, I'm restricted to "value" components. I was considering the Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6GHz, or the Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition @ 3.1GHz. Without taking overclocking into consideration (although it is almost a certainty), which CPU would you recommend?
Thanks, Rick

I will pass on the Account Activate problem to our forum admins.
You want to always purchase the fastest and as many "core" processor/CPU you can afford for games these days and BOBII 2.10 requires a fast dual or quad core processor/cpu.
My old quad (SEE SPECS IN SIG BELOW)runs BOBII, OFF3, and ROF great without over clocking (I do not over clock my quad because of heat and I have not needed to). ROF and BOBII uses the quad. Other sims will use the quad in the future.

Thanks for the info, but you were quite non-committal. Are you a politician in RL? The Athlon I mentioned has 4 cores @ 2.6GHz, whereas the Phenom has 2 cores at 3.1GHz. Are you implying by "BOBII uses the quad" that the Athlon would be a better choice? Thanks.

You are correct, I hate to give specific PC advice as I might be wrong (can not help it as I would not want to mess up someone).
I would go for the Quad as I think it tons more processing power and BOBII does use a quad as well as ROF. I would expect you to run BOBII as well as me (which is good) as the Athlon is about equal to my me quad.I would expect future new games to also use the quad as well.

Rick,
Over the past 18 months, we have made some changes to the way forum activations are handles to better manage the mass spam posts. Your ID login was likely purged if it has not been activated.
If you have an ID you wish to use, try registering now. If it says the ID is already taken, just let me know what the ID is and we will activate it.
Scott.

Thanks, gents.
I was away from home at an EW conference, and did not have time to be on the internet. Sorry for not responding sooner.
Buddye: Thanks for the info, and I'm sorry to corner you like that. I promise that I will not hold you accountable for any of my screw-ups.
Scott: The website tells me that both my Username (12AMS) and email are currently already used, so if it is possible to activate it, please do so. Thanks.

Thank you very much. Sorry for taking so long in getting back to you, but my 10-year-old daughter was in the hospital for 5 days with H1N1, so I was somewhat incommunicado. What an insidious illness! I hope no one on these forums gets that virus.
