Can you run a directx 10 card on a directx 9 system ...

If not does ANYone know where I can pick up a 512 PCI-EXPRESS video card thats directx 9 preferably nVidia SLI

Yes. DX10 only works on Vista or 7 so a card that will work for DX10 running on XP will only do DX9.
