BLOOM - A shader effect that adds glimmers of light to objects with bright light behind them.

( look at the glowing arms in this image, and the face in the background) ) --

POST SATURATION - A post processing effect that changes the "vividness" of the colors on the screen.

DROPS - An effect that adds a "raindrop" on your goggles effect ( only seen during rainy missions)

OLD CINEMA - An effect that adds a sepia tone effect. ( only seen in the classroom videos with Eddie )

BLOOD - *I cant remember what this does, so it must be pretty minimal*

DOF - Depth of Field: A blurring effect to help minimise headaches and other health related issues ( should be off unless needed )

In closing, the effects are generally viewed as a larger impact on game performance, then the benifits or immersion they bring. Although Dart's images of his campaign (with the raindrops) is a great image and he is enjoying the DROPS processing.

Personally, I had on the OLD CINEMA effect enabled when I did the training campaign, but turned it off afterwards.

If you find the ground color (vividness) not to your liking, try the POST SATURATION effect.

Also note, that checking these effects changes your video memory usage...so play with the different settings and find a combination that YOU prefer and doesn't impact performance to your level of satisfaction.

( I run will all effects unchecked - your mileage may vary.)

Hope this helps.

Bloom really impacts the fps rate. I would recommend to use post saturation, as this setting drastically improves the way colors are displayed in the game. Without post saturation, it looks very cartoonish. I think the effect it has on your fps rate isn't really that high, if there is any effect at all.
