I didn´t visit the codemasters forums for quite a while and i was genuinly surprised when i read on a gaming site that they released the patch. So i dled it and fired up my pc version to see whats changed and to take a glimpse at the new missions.
A few minutes ago i started my console version of OFPDR and the patch was downloaded right away and i went straight on checking out how the new missions look on the 360 but wth, no missions. So back to XBL´s download section and my jaw dropped! They want 400 points for content the pc players getting for free (I even remember Simon LIEton mention somthing about the first DLC will be for free). I am glad having also the pc version because as a console player i would feel like someone just punched me in the face laughing.
I know that they do thsi to console players (henche the CoD series) but since the content of the console version is really thin compared to the pc version i thought CM would be reasonable, dumb me! Welcome to the real world of commerce and screwing ppl over!

I have to add this but regarding to some ppl in the codemasters forum the "new" missions of the skirmish pack are already on the DVD they just unlock them for 400 points! Well talking about ripping off!

Yep, bad stuff. I have both versions and am considering trading away the console version because of this.

Well that's pretty distasteful. When I payed 60$ for the physical game, I payed for it once and for all to own it. If that's true that they are touting missions that they already designed and placed somewhere on your game disk to be unlocked at a later time at a cost as new dlc, that's just silly. Its their product so they can do what they want, but that's not being square with your customers. Just be honest and upfront with people. Its usually the easiest thing and it saves a lot of grief.

Hi there,

Two weeks ago I got tired of seeing how CM was laughing at my face with no mission editor and 8 players on console so I sold my console and my copy of OFP DR, I bought a new PC and now I can enjoy of OFP DR and ARMA 2 as never before.

The "upgrade" cost me 500 euros/dollars so for the price of two consoles I bought a nice PC with WIN7 included smile.
I am also thinking about upgrading the graphic card(Nvidia GT220) for a 250GT or 9800GT to get better framerate in ARMA 2. I heard that with a 8800GT you can get good framerate with settings at normal so maybe if I can get it for a good price...

And of course compared with the console version on PC I can run everthing almost high at 1280x1024 which compared to 1280x720 console resolution it makes a noticeable difference.

During a time I thought that consoles were the way to go, I have realized that I was really wrong.

Conclusion: OFPDR for console is a bad joke.

I do like the game a lot and I just don't see the bugs being reported on the 360 version.
However...I bought the dlc, which I'm happy to do. What I got is just "lacking" I like one of the missions (the last one) but the first is at a time of day where I can't see anything from the chopper. Worst of all, people on their forum were DEMANDING a free roam mode. Why I have NO idea. Now I've paid for 2: day and night. This offers me flat nothing. I haven't even seen the MP maps since SP/co-op is where it's at with this thing. I want another FULL campaign. That's it. The way things are, I don't think we're going to get the free dlc and game types we were promised. I'm not sure if we'll get more paid dlc even.
Well, I'm keeping the game since my friends are on the 360, but I've decided it's time to upgrade a little and pick up the pc version for the content that's out there. I'm extremely happy with the game itself, I'm just disappointed that there's so little of it to enjoy.

jt_medina: check this out if you were considering a 9800.

That's the one I just ordered. The 512MP is $20 less.

Oops, maybe I got the last one. LOL

Good thing the DLC is very mediocre, so it's not like you're missing out on something big by not getting it.
