sorry, but I gotta do a little crying and whining here. After evaluating the pros and cons I decided to buy MW2 via Steam yesterday. I knew that the german "uncut" version would be a little bit different from the rest of the world (can't shoot civies in the airpor scene). I really could live with that (don't enjoy shooting those poor suckers anyway).

So, installed it, started it and ... German on screen text and germen spoke language in game???
Sure no problem, gotta go in the options menu and change the language.

BUT: You can't change the language in the german version!!!Aaaahhhhh!!!

The product description at the steam website clearly states the game as multilangual! Ahahahahahah!
I payed 59,99 Euros for US/British Special Forces soldiers that speak like in some old 60s WW2 Movie "Jawohl Herr Oberst!"

I'm really pissed off.

Yep... that would piss me off too... maybe their is a mod, like with the German version of ArmA2? I would imagine the sound files are all in one place...maybe.

IW want you to play the German version how they think the German version should be played. Embrace the IW doctrine

Actually this reminds me of the original CoD, which i've bought in Germany - it had german voice-over, all the allied soldiers were speaking in German , lol... it was kind of strange. And no, it was not multilingual.

I just read that even if you bought a UK-import you get german sound files. Steam sees you have a german IP, deletes the english sound files (that came with your DVD) and downloads the german files.
Now that's what I call customer support!

Well after all that's one of our specialties here in Germany.
We have a special authority here in Germany, the "Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien" (Federal inspecting authority for media unfit for youth) that controlls that we don't consume media that's not good for us.

Like games with ENGLISH SPOKEN LANGUAGE!!!
