Out of the three modes, the new 2 player co-op mode is the best... leemz and i got together and completed the Alpha missions on VET... and some bravo's... defend a roof top, sneak from point A to point B, One cover with an AC 130 while the other makes it from A to B, and then the snowmobile races, incredible fun.

How long do the missions last Magnum? Longer than the single missions in OFDR? (I hope)

I am going to check it out in a little bit. Got a buddy coming over to check out the game and I figure we will give the co-op a shot. I wouldn't mind giving it a go with some SimHQ guys either. One question though, in the last CoD game when one of you died the other could help revive you...is that still around or is it one and done?

I'd would perhaps be up for some coop tonight Top Gun or anyone. Exactly how does that work? Do you start the game from the beginning and work through the missions together or do you start up on whatever mission your host is currently on in the single player campaign?

No... it's a series of small missions anywhere from 6 minutes to 30... the first mission is actually the intro training shoot house from the SP campaign, but you do it with a buddy, and get 1 to 3 stars depending on your time.

then one of the other ones is that you a buddy are up on a roof top, you get waves of bad guys coming at you... one or both can shoot, while one can use missiles to help kill the waves... great stuff... another one was that you and your buddy have to sneak from point A to point B without being spotted by patrols or dogs.

and then another has one guy the C130 operator (like in the first game) and one guy going from point A to point B... while the Spectra operator clears a path... sweet stuff...

and another was a snowmobile race from A to B... fastest time wins, but what your time is rewards you with stars.

and so on and so on...

good stuff.

Ooh that sounds good. So it doesn't spoil the campaign story for those who have not finished the game yet? I'm up for some coop spec opts tonight.

Magnum,

And let's not forget that mission where you have to make your way across the bridge and fight your way through waves of bad guys and also take down a chopper.

None of the co-op missions that Magnum and I played were part of the campaign. It was all new stuff and it was all fun. The stealth mission, in the snow, was tense. You could opt to kill the bad guys but you had to do it quietly so as to not alert others of your presence. If they spotted you, you didn't live long. You'd get overwhelmed in hurry.

The C130 mission might be my favorite but it was the only mission we were unable to complete. Pretty difficult on "Hardened" difficulty, but it was a BLAST to play and watch those bodies go flying. It was a hoot to shoot down the choppers as they were delivering more troops and watch the helicopters blow up and the soldiers inside get thrown out. Great stuff.

The campaign in this game is ridiculously short but they've made up for it with this co-op mode and the quality of the MP component. Still, I'd have preferred a few more hours of campaign play.
