Installed Windows 7 (64b/Pro) last weekend, added 3 GB's of memory and tried some self made missions in ARMA II.

The missions were running smooth under Windows XP, now I'm seeing these "mini pauses" about every 5 seconds or so.

I also noticed these "mini pauses" would only occur when I was moving around; i.e. holding down the W key.

After searching and trying out different solutions I tried the same in Notepad: holding down a key and see what would happen.

And yes, also in Notepad I'm seeing pauses or hiccups like in ARMA.

I'm a bit baffled about this one, the hardware gurus here at SimHQ always were a great help in the past and I'm hoping you guys can help me out once again!

Cheers,

Willem.

Only the W key or all keys? Sounds like a problem with your keyboard or the USB driver/port.

Just in case, try remapping your movement keys and see if the problem goes away.

Every once in a while I stumble across situations where a key in-game is also doing something out-of-game that causes a issue. Granted this is pretty unlikely with something as the innocuous as the W key, but it's a simple test.

OK, this is a first; just ran into battle backwards , just to try another key (S) it looks like the pauses are even worse.

Also tried a cheap logitech keyboard: no joy.

I will also try installing the ATI driver I was using under XP. but that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Thanks and Goodnight.
