I have tried to install IL2 on my Windows 7 system and have not been able to. I'm sure it's a compatabilty issue. I know it can run on 7 but not sure how to get it there?

When I try and run the Setup.exe it starts the Windows Settup Wizard then just goes away and nothing more happens.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Run the setup in compatibility mode for XP, that might help.

Or install it on an XP system somewhere else, burn the folder to disk and copy over.

I just installed IL2:1946 last night and ran into the same problem.
Instead of running autoplay, run a.exe from the DVD.

Right click on setup.exe and "run as administrator". Put in your admin password when prompted.
UAC is blocking it thinking it could be malicious.

a.exe is what you need to run as mucat said.
