I have posted this in the HSFX 4 downloads section bur it may not be reaching the right audience there.

Basically the engine roars at full blast even before I turn it on. Sometimes I have to start the engine first and then it roars. I am running the sound in 8ch surround sound with Surround selected in IL-2 setup. I tried EAX1 setting but that's pretty naff after my nice surround sound setup and anyway it often starts so softly I can hardly hear it and have to go into the sound setup and click around a few settings before putting it back to what it was and coming out to get it to come back to a reasonable level.

My Motherboard sound is Realtek on the ASUS A8N32SLi.
I have also installed a separate C-Media 8768 sound card and disabled the Realtek on my mobo. Due to accidentally disconnecting one of my RAID5 drives when installing the sound card and being unable to recover the RAID5 I had to rebuild my Hard Drives. So I have a very clean install with that sound card but I still have the same sound problem.

I did not have it with 'clean' 4.09m before or after the rebuild. I have it since installing the HSFX mods even when set to 4.09m and I had it with AAA mods before. The only way I can stop it is to turn off the sound extensions which again is pretty naff. I don't know if there's a connection between the HSFX and AAA sound files.

So,

1.Can anyone tell me what is causing the problem?
2. What is the big difference between the mods sound fils/setup and the 'Oleg' sounds?
3. Can I re-store the 'Oleg' sounds?
