No thanks. And it has nothing to do with the 'questionable' level. It's just another arcade shooter.

I dont understand how it can score 10s though, so its the perfect videogame?
I read the gamesradar review, and he lists about 5 or 6 problems with the game, yet they still give it a 10?
Ill probably still get it in the future, but unfortunately Im not 15 anymore so the MP aspect would be an exercise in frustration

I do expect it to be a great game, but agree... I don't think I have found the perfect 10 game yet... I do wonder if hype more then content is giving those scores... whatever, I can't wait.

All review sites state that a 10 is not "perfect" since that's impossible, 10 is just reserved for what they consider the best of the best or must buy or whatever.

I have no doubt the game will be incredibly well polished. COD games always "move" well and have nice punchy gunfire and pretty exciting Die Hard action. However, the game relies too much on being pretty and doesn't bring much to the table in the form of gameplay. MP is still based mainly on TDM, one of the oldest and most worn out game modes there is. S&D is good, but then they handicap it with small maps and short game time. Quantum of Solace was based on the COD engine and very smooth--and the MP actually brought in some new and interesting game types. Arcade for sure, but I have no idea why that game didn't do better. They pull COD off well, but the game is still pretty basic--which is why it's so well done--there isn't much new about it. Basically a rehash of the last 2 games. I have no doubt it will be well done for what it is though and I do look forward to most of the SP game. MP...not likely.

LOL the haters are out in force at metacritic, user rating of 5.9. Metacritic should just drop user ratings all together. When any big release comes out the haters swarm there to give the game low ratings, even more so if that game is a console exclusive.

I pretty much disregard any perfect game reviews. That being said, the dissapointingly short length of the single player is a little off-putting. Maybe a rental, but I got Dragon Age to finish first.

This makes me very, very happy. From the Giantbomb review: The system of class creation has been expanded in spots and heavily reworked in others. Perks that got a lot of complaints in COD4, like Martyrdom and Juggernaut, have been heavily reworked. For starters, Martyrdom is now a "deathstreak" bonus. If you die four times in a row without killing anyone, your next spawn will give you one instance of Martyrdom. This makes it a lot more rare, as opposed to COD4, where almost every player dropped a grenade every time they died. Juggernaut is gone completely, but there's a rough equivalent to it in Painkiller, another deathstreak perk that will spawn you with triple health if you die three times in a row... but the health bonus only lasts for ten seconds after spawning. Everything feels changed up just enough to feel totally fresh while still letting you outfit the type of character you want.

I thought no perk was more annoying than Martyrdom. And the problem isn't getting a kill after you die, the problem I had with it was that the grenade was "pre-cooked" and went off in only a fraction of the time it should've taken. It was a cheap kill. This is an acceptable alternative.

Right, if it was a full timed grenade it wouldn't have bothered me, those are easy to throw away or run from.

I really liked the game (yeah, I finished already). But, it's not a 10. For brevity alone the game has to take a few hits. It's short. Really short. Really, really short.
I finished CoD4 in about 9 hours. This didn't take anywhere near that long. And, yeah, even though it was a terrific ride with many twists and turns, it needs to take it's lumps for being so short.
I only played one game of MP (TDM) and I liked it quite a bit. The map was bigger than most maps from CoD4, which was a welcome relief. And, of course, early on in the release nearly everyone was of the same rank.

I have had a good time so far. The only of CoD game that I played was World at War, so this is still fairly new for me. I have done a decent amount of the single player campaign, and feel like I am fairly far along in it, and played MP with a friend for a while this afternoon. MP was fun, but I feel like it is one of those things that will be fun with friends, and not so much with random people.

That's exactly how I felt about COD4, to much run and gun w/ the bunny hoppers! I really liked the campaign in Coop, Coot and I finished the campaign last night w/ 2 othe guys.
My brother already finished MW2 last night after just getting it, wasn't happy w/ how short it is!

I can tell from how hard Regular is sometimes that my Veteran run through won't be short. Took me a long time to get through 4 on vet and sections of MW2 seem even more difficult.
I love the way enemies drop the differently equipped guns, I'm switching guns out a lot more than I did in 4.

True, I haven't seen any infinite enemy sections yet. I haven't played enough yet to notice, but if that's true, then that is a big plus for me. The infinite respawns made slow and methodic progress through a level impossible.

It will sure make veteran a lot easier.
The TV station mission in 4 on veteran nearly gave me PTSD. I think I invented new swear words during that part.
I finsihed it on regular last night. It was fun and very summer blockbusterish and I'm looking forward to going through it on vet but I didn't like the story as much as 4. Took me 6 hours and 15 minutes.

Yeah, I noticed that too. On the mission in South America where you're chasing that guy through the shanty town, I actually killed EVERYONE except for your primary target, who is only supposed to be captured. There were definitely no infinite respawns there. Once I killed everyone, no new enemies appeared and I was able to hunt down the target unimpeded.

Excellent game, those that choose to skip it are missing out on a brilliant game production. IW has no equal when it come to game developers.
