Well at least it was free for PC gamers... but come on... that released patch and 2 freckin, poorly made, missions, and 2 MP maps for OFP DR is pure BS... and a slap in the face from Codemasters... all the hype about how they are going to support this game like no other... all BS.

The patch fixes very little, and practically NONE of the game play killing bugs and issues.

The 2 FTE missions are a joke, poorly done... I myself could of done better... and at least 100 others have made missions 10x better.

and then the 2 new MP maps... SWEET, but they haven't fixed anyone of the game killing MP bugs to make it worth playing... hit detection is still way to screwed up to even bother with MP.

All BS... and to think I payed 400 points for the 360 add-on pack... Codemasters is in contention with Activision for my choice of crappy'est Publisher of the year...

Absolutely BS.

I'm still really enjoying the game and have been having fun with multiplayer lately. But there are definitely things that need fixing. I have personally pumped upwards of 10 to 12 rounds into a bad guy with no affect.(fix that now please!)

Top Gun, me and a gruesome jester were in the coop mission where you actually jdam the general. After this, we were then supposed to blow up the radio tower. Something somewhere got totally fubar. Top Gun set off the charges and accidentally got killed but the tower remained and so did the charges he left?!?. After respawning he recharged it and tried to blow them but nada. Then jester kept getting stuck and then killed for no reason. Everyone was also starting to no clip through buildings and such. Then I was the last one standing and while walking around perfectly fine I just dropped dead. I don't know if the scripting or triggers got out of wack but it was a funky mess.

However its still a great game and the best tactical game for a console. I really like the game's engine and can see it used for jungle or desert type campaign/story lines. I wish they would make the mission designer freely available for the console guys. There would probably be some great missions and mini campaigns to follow. But to make some extra money I guess that is why they are trickling out these missions on xbx live. But as you mentioned, if they are of poor quality, I'm not willing to spend money on them. I'll just keep enjoying the game as it stands and be happy with any patches that come along.

This is one of those hopeless games in my opinion. It had lots of hype and fell so far short it isn't even funny. Lots of people have allready jumped ship on it and you probably won't see much support for it.

Would have been nice to see a competitor to ARMA, but it's not even close. I've tried playing through this game like twice now and have yet to make it past the 4th mission before quitting in disgust.

Well IMO I thought the SP and the 4 player co-op was great... but where this game is dead is the MP... vehicles... and content.

I still boot it up and play a mission once in a while... but every time I think how great this really could of been... could of being the key word.

Sure they released a patch pretty quick but it barely covered some of the more game killing bugs and decisions made in development... then 2 whole missions... for 400 points on Xbox... what a slap in the face... should of been a minimum of 6 good missions, 12 would of been more respectful.

with no mission editor they should have included about 50 kick-ass missions for the console versions. how much work for the mission builders at Codemasters would this have added. not that much.

i paid $39.90 for the pc version. because of the inclusion of the mission editor, i am satisfied with what i received.

the only thing that bothers me a little is the lack of any official news about the future of Dragon Rising from Codemasters. that makes me think that they are done with the game and are ready to move on to something else.

Like I said in my review... I think the infantry aspect of this game is GREAT... but the vehicles, aircraft, and tanks... are ridiculously arcade.

and I agree... a tons of missions released with game should of been included on disk.

Jezuz! I guess I won't be buying this game when I get my new PC. Thank God I already ordered "Race On."

I've been running it pretty much exclusivly since it came out, and like it, but the bugs and rediculous weapon physics are killing it for me. I qualified Hawkeye with the M-16 IRL, and because of zeroing a site for your eye, you can nail a man at 400 yards with no problem. Having to "guess" and take ranging shots in game, plus enema NPC's being able to take 4 or 5 hits before being down.....just getting old. Plus the fact that the enema troops can see through smoke, grass, trees, buildings, etc., I'm headed for ArmA2 next payday.
Not to mention the lack of HOTAS control for helo's is just rediculous. Flying with the keyboard? Seems just flat LAZY on the developers part. This game could have been a classic...but looking like a fad.
