Fair enough. Experience on the Mercs would be my weakest point in RoF. I have flown them and never had them let me down, but I do prefer to fly British planes in pretty much any combat flight sim, so most of my time in RoF has been with the G9, Viper, etc.

Getting back to the OP. I also found the DR1 a real handful. Its taken me about a week to actually be able to fly it. I cant recommend any other tips than just practice, practice, practice.

The great thing is that its inherent instabilty, once harnessed makes it evil in a dogfight.

The V6 merc engine will break if it goes over 1600 revs period. How long it takes to break seems to be a bit random (and their is probably some element of randomness programed into it). I think thats belivable behaviour.

Just remember if you want to fly home under the power of your engine, to keep her under 16 at all times.

Agreed.

I'm very taken with the Dr.I...I'm just hoping for the day when my abilities improve to the point where I can be consistent and more relaxed flying it.

That goes double for the Camel...I've been flying it more and more, and seeing what it's capable of is awe inspiring! Too bad that's usually by accident, and usually just before I get it into the deadly left hand flat spin, but there it is duh

On that note, BTW, check your PMs, Squid, please wink
