Hello all!

I currently have a black Momo Racing wheel and it has held up pretty well (I use it for iRacing, GTR2, and RFactor). However, it seems like the feel is just "off". Everything works well on the wheel and pedals, but it just isn't clicking with me. Something does not feel right.

My current choices look like the DFGT, G25, and the G27. Obviously the DFGT is quite a bit cheaper than the other offerings and does not seem as technologically advanced, but it seems like quite a few people like/enjoy the product. The other options, the G25 and G27 are quite a bit more expensive but seem to have almost a cult like following (G25).

What I am looking for is some feedback from you folks out there who currently have or have used one or more of these wheels. Obviously, I would love to spend less, but I don't want to do so if I am going to be missing out on great performance and a whole slew of features.

As referenced above, my current sims are iRacing, RFactor, and GTR2. IRacing being my MAIN sim of choice, then RFactor with GTR2 a distant 3rd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time! cheers

I have a G25 and would not trade it for any other wheel, it's quality.

If I had no wheel at all, I would be picking between the G25 or the G27. It seems that the main difference between the two is that the G25 has sequential shifting while the G27 sacrificed that feature for a stronger feel on the H Shifter. The G27 also added 4 extra buttons onto the wheel.

Here is an in-depth review of the G27 by Chunx:

Used several wheels over the years. I own a Logitech Force EX and got a G25 in march of this year. No way I'm going back to other wheels. The G27 is no option for me, since the sequential shifter is gone.

Thereīs also the Fanatec Porche wheel, though availability in the states might be a problem.
Some people who have used the G25 and the Fanatec say that itīs better, the Fanatec wheel that is. It uses a belt drive and should be considerably smoother. And no deadzone in the middle like the G25 and G27.

The "cult-like" following for the G25 is because there is no other wheel at the price point that comes anywhere close to matching the performance.

SimHQ is planning a review of the Fanatec offerings, but it's going to take a while.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody. I found two G27s here locally so they seem to be pretty readily available.

The Fanatec wheel seems very good, but it is also at least $50 over the G27. If you get the Clubsport addition, I think the price is around $500 (eek!).

So far, the G25/G27 seem like the best options. The lack of the sequential shifter in the G27 is no big deal to me since I use paddles anyways. I will keep researching the two Logitech "G" offerings.

Thanks again!

There are a couple of video reviews of the G27 (well, one actually, and a follow-up), here and here.

what's this about no sequential shifter on the g27? it's there.

I have a g25 and it's awesome, i have the momo aswell but it has a problem with the throttle not going to 100% which is aknown problem with the potentiometer.

I'm hoping to get the g27. is it out yet?

if not i would recommend the g25.

Thanks for the comments and information, all.

DJ, the G27 has no sequential shifter (outside of the paddles).

The G27 is officially out, in fact, it is being sold in Best Buy stores. thumbsup

The G27 is on sale this week at Best Buy for $254.

I might have to jump on it, unless I can find a G25 for less.
