I didn't do anything. They are part of the new features from the 1.008 patch.

That's odd!?!?

Take a look in your update folder:

Rise of Flight\updates

...do all your files in there start with 09-10-27 ? (date modified 10/30/2009)

...or do you have any that still say 08-something?

Hmmm, if 'post saturation' is enabled, the yellow is not so yellow wink i.e. the colors are not so vivid (i actually like this, as they seem more natural and also easier for the eye).

Lol! If you visited the Oktoberfest then you already know the greatest Bavarian tradition so to speak. I do hope you got plastered with genuine Bavarian beer and not with Becks cheers

Actually, I'd be amazed if one could find a single bottle of Beck's at the Oktoberfest. I lived in Germany for about 8+ years, three different locations/cities; been to the Munich Oktoberfest five times. GREAT Fun!! Biggest disappointment was moving from the State of Bavaria(Augsburg) to Rheinland Palatinate, Ramstein and near Zell an der Mosel. Beck's is from northern Germany, Bremen, and is a primarily a pilsener...far too hoppy and bitter for my taste, and possibly/seemingly for most Bavarians.

Here's a list of the main tents and associated beers/breweries at Oktoberfest (Wiki extract):

Hippodrom Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu
Armbrustschützenzelt Paulaner
Hofbräu-Festzelt Hofbräu München
Hacker-Festzelt Hacker-Pschorr
Schottenhamel Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu
Winzerer Fähndl Paulaner
Schützen-Festhalle Löwenbräu
Käfers Wiesen Schänke Paulaner
Weinzelt Nymphenburger
Paulaner Weißbier
Löwenbräu-Festhalle Löwenbräu
Bräurosl Hacker-Pschorr
Augustiner-Festhalle Augustiner Bräu
Ochsenbraterei Spaten
Fischer Vroni Augustiner

Of course, imho, the Bavarian Andechs Brewery produces the best beer in the world...just my opinion. "Andechers Bergbock Hell"! MMMMM!!!! thumbsup Sadly, Andechs beer is not exported, to the best of my knowledge.

LOL, no of course I was not drinking Becks at the Oktoberfest, I drink it back in blighty it is the best lager. Smile2 . I like the Bavarian wheat beers (hefeweissen) they call it, and I got wrecked on 'Kristallweissen', its a cleaner, filtered finish and the dogs bollocks. Smile2

They sell some of these in England (Lowenbrau is easy to come by), but a lot of so called Bavarian beers are actually brewed in London! Pffft.

You may have heard of the award winning Newcastle Brown Ale? Nectar of the Gods! A mate of mine told me Clint Eastwood drinks it, but I don't know if hes winding me up or not! biggrin Apparently it sells very well Stateside. Now it is being brewed in frikking Yorkshire!.....Bah. Locals (Geordies) call it "Dog" or "Broon", (from "I'm going to walk the Dog" meaning going to the pub to escape the wife). If you ever go to Newcastle and ask for "Newkie Brown" someone (possibly me) will punch your lights out lol, as it is a Southern term and highly offensive (Jk) hahaha

Belgian Ales rule too, particularly "Duvel"...They are also master Brewers indeed Smile2 .

Me too, but then I remembered that it wasnt the DR.1, but rather a prototype with Bentley engine.

I`ve tried doing the half flat spin, which supposedly was done in 1.5 seconds at 8 G`s, It`s down right impossible when flying at a straight line no matter what the stall speed, I found it impossible to do unless I fly upwards at an angle, but according to data on the Fokker F1 (DR.1 prototype.) Another F1 prototype with same specifications as the F.1 that Voss flew, was destroyed due to a 7.4 G load? (OK, Wikipedia.) So maybe because Mccudden was diving at Voss at the time Voss pulled what looked like a half flat spin, if Voss was climbing whilst doing that, it would be easy for a fired up attacker to misjudge the maneuver maybe?

Ive tried that manuveur with no success either. The closest I can get its basically a controlled spin that flicks the plane 180 degrees within its own length.

Maybe its not possible with the current FM, perhaps Voss did something different? On the whole though Im chuffed to bits with the FM.

I remember seeing this maneuver on some history channel show. If I remember correctly, the way they showed it would have been pretty much violating the laws of physics. I think it's more of the case of the myth's that were built around these planes and aces.

Yeh I think the rendering of the manuveur on dogfights was a bit of artistic interpretation.

I have read all the pilots testimonies (SE5's) and Voss did just seem to be able to spin the aircraft around to bring his guns to bear in an incredible and shocking manner. But I think a "flat turn" could mean pretty much anything.

The mistake the SE5s made was to get in close where the Voss's superiour agility could best be put to use. Had they hung off and dove down on him, its likely it would of been over a lot quicker.

The dogfights episode also states that Voss could of escaped at any time. This is simply not true as the minute he tried to he would have been an easy target. Rather he was trapped and fighting for his life.

His only option for survival was to use his incredible manuverabilty and stay in close.

The amount of damage Voss inflicted was incredible with all the planes returning requiring repair. IIRC two were written off!

For me it is one of the most inspirational storys of WWI. There are plenty of myths about the Dr1 but the story of Voss is not one of them.

Although Voss wasn't alone - for most of the fight he had an Albatros scout complicating things for the RFC pilots.
