thumbsup Yeah..gone are the days when you just hop in and shove the throttles forward and hope your WAG for takeoff distance worked out.. biggrin

We have the TOLD cards too and do one for each t/o and landing. I wonder if the Beechjet is the same as the Citation in that they don't give you any credit for thrust reversers on a rejected takeoff or landings (?)

T-1 doesn't have thrust reversers. We have spoilers and those are not used during abort.

I've never actually experienced WAG takeoffs since my first training involved USAF airclub and those require TOLD for each takeoff.

What's the Vappr for Citation with full tanks?

107 is our Vref at max landing weight (15,200 lbs.) so that would put Vap around 117 depending on gust factor.

I believe the highest no flap Vref is 125 (that is off the top of my head)..

No kidding? I'm surprised since that would transfer more weight to the wheels. Interesting to see the differences between the aircraft..

Actually I'm wrong, speed brake is the last step during abort. Ops.

I have seen some T-1s take off over my office building here at San Antonio Airport, man do those things scream. I can hear them coming way before they fly over. Almost as loud as the F-16s!

Just wait until you go operational...

The performance manual for the Bone was a separate binder 3 inches thick. I'd imagine most other heavy aircraft will be similar due to the many configurations you can fly with.

I heard that.

Small update. We 'hit' flightline on Thursday and most of us will do 'dollar rides'. Between those days, we have two tests. Lovely.
So far I had three flights in a sim. Based on sim feeling, T-1 feels like a bus with wings. During take off, it wants to stay on the ground. After take off it wants to climb. Any nose low attitude and speed rises drastically. Give it slow speed and aircraft wants to Dutch roll like a madman with yawdamper off. During no flap landings, runway becomes hard to see due to such a hose high attitude. Also, no flaring required with no flap as ground effect slows descent down. < Odd.

Anyhow, I have less and less time for anything during weekdays and it is projected to get much worse.

biggrin Yeah. I'll bet if you ask any sim instructor what the hardest thing is to teach students the likely answer will be "to not flare during a no flap landing". It is so hardwired into our heads (well, except for Navy pilots) to flare that NOT flaring is almost impossible. On the no flap landing that just means you balloon up and come crashing down a thousand feet further down the runway... biggrin

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to more!
