Edit:

If you download the 1.28C install from link in my signature this patch is not needed as I have just uploaded a new version of the 1.28C installer which installs the 1.28C+ exe and the replacement CDFS.
The patch will only be needed for existing 1.28C installations.

To accommodate some user preferences which were raised after the release we have made a mini patch. We have also taken the opportunity to add an extra feature which makes music management more flexible.

http://www.users.on.net/pam_biddell/128CPlus.exe

A Readme is included which tells you:

Mini Patch EAW1.28c+

1. Viewing the propeller:
When the cockpit is "on" the propellor view can be enabled or disabled again (EAW.ini "CockpitProp =")

2. When playing offline the procedure to enable "AutoClimb" has been changed:
First enable "Wingleveler" (Usually Shift -A)
Then push "Autopilot" (usually A).

3. Music:
If a "Music" folder has been provided by the Scenario maker then it will be used if it is in the Scenario folder.
For example if the music folder which comes with SPAW is placed in the SPAW folder it will be used when playing SPAW

4. Some updated CDF files have been included.

The 7-zip self installer contains:

eaw.exe (1.28C+)
DATA.cdf
Menu_eng.cdf
TEXT_ENG.CDF
readme.txt

Hi,

Number 1. is an old feature that got enabled again after a request from a player in a other forum.

We thought that noone play without propeller when inside the cockpit(the feature to dissable it was made to save computing power with old PC´s in 1998), so we used this button to switch to a 2nd plane set(if available). With this patch we reenable the possibility to dissable the propeller, but we dissable the possibility to dissable the "needles" etc of the gauges(realy, who want empty gauges??). Also this feature is a relict from 1998, when people needed a new PC to max out the EAW settings.

I guess Tony will wake up soon and fix the D/L link.

Greetings,

Knegel

LoL, sorry Knegel, but I do!! I have found a technique to make 2D cockpits using snapshots of 3D cockpits. I paint the window areas a transparent color, convert to PIC images using PICPAC, then fit them into the Cockpit Editor. I can then load them into a aircraft slot and create a new 2D cockpit. This in turn helps me register the intitial locations of the gauges for a new, custom P***VIEW.CPT file and VCG_****.DAT file.

Not having the needles and sprites, as well as the gunsight and hud displays, means I have less graphic editing to do.

HOWEVER!!!!
No need to change, I am quite happy to use an older exe to accomplish this. I just had to share my laugh...

Cheers mate!!

The link is fixed (in the first post)- there was something in the old filename which caused a problem.
