downsizing the pictures properly helps too, but on my radeon 4870 it looks pretty much like that...

The game is achingly beautiful though.

That's true. There's stuff there that isn't apparent until you've been playing for a while. I had the sound up way loud this morning, and I noticed I could hear not just birds chirping when I went over a forest with engine off, but there's a background hum, like there is in real life.
Love that Camel cockpit, it felt comfortable from the moment it first loaded.
