Strange to hear that they thought everyone would be using cheap joysticks, though. Function of living and working in the CIS. Average salary (with all the traps of using an average) is about 12K USD a year in Russia. Sure, some crazy Westeners will spend big money on a HOTAS, but surely most people don't have that sort of money to throw around! [edit] We care, Biggles. We just don't care enough. It's also not just about salaries. It's also about ditribution and retail channels. Today's Russia is a bit different. Jason

Dunno, maybe not that off. Then again I could be completely wrong... My thinking is that if they found a way to also let the environment partake in atmospheric interaction, and not just the planes themselves, without killing performance, then that might also be the solution to the windsock problem. If I remember correctly, they said animated windsocks where a cpu killer so far, and I don't think it was because of the graphical animation of the windsock. But it's pure speculation on my part... And if not, I'll just shoot down my wingman before landing to judge wind direction by the smoke from his smoldering wreckage Dobby

See guys they are on it. I didn't know they would post this blog this morning, a pleasent surprise. I've been helping them with the overall big picture announcement, but this blog entry is just the start of the kind of improvements that will be coming.
Jason So THAT'S what you were reading with those funny goggles? RoF 1.009 release notes/blog entry. I'm very happy to see these improvements AND communication from neoqb. I have to add my appreciation for publishing RoF for the US market, Jason. I may get flummoxed at a few annoyances, but I'm still glad I purchased the game. I can only see the experience getting better.

In studying the problems you’ve encountered, we’ve concluded that vast majority of RoF users employ rather sophisticated (and not cheap) input devices That is amazing. They don't know anything about their target audience do they? All they need to do is google "home cockpits", and they can see what people are building and using.

There is? When did this happen? I dunno, I'm away for 5 minutes...
Don't suppose there's a dedicated server guide too? As far as I know, dserver.exe has always been there....

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

I want to play with the SDK So, mods will be coming. Unlimited possibilities (Korea 1952, please). River Ships will help to liven up the scene. I'm liking that. Taking off from them,,, I'm game, hehe. The Realistic Smoke section sounds fantastic! And of course the joystick config. Everything else too. This is going to be a major leap for the game. looking very forward to it. Thanks you I think I will head over to the store
