hello guys!

I just wanted to ask which MODS give the best feeling for a SH4/U-Boat missions install;

I do want to use the RSRD campaign addon but do not know, which MOD gives the best athmospheric enhancement currently and how to configure that install using JSGME;

So I am grateful for any help you gentlemen in the know can provide me with smile

best regards
BL

There are 2 all-in-1 mods that I know of currently: Real Fleet Boat (RFB) and Trigger Maru Overhauled (TMO). They are not compatible with each other, and both have versions that will work with RSRDC.

I'm not sure what you mean by "atmospheric". I use TMO, and the mod sacrifices realism for gameplay. Meaning that the mod-maker would deliberately implement a feature that may not have been that historically accurate, but would have perhaps better replicated the experience of a real life WW2 sub skipper in the confines of the game. Not saying that TMO is unrealistic, it's just that the philosophy behind the mod is that sticking to 100% (or as near as the sim will allow) historical accuracy may in some cases diminish the game play experience.

I've not use RFB, so I can't comment on it. But it obviously has something going for it as it's quite popular too.

To use JSGME, you just need to highlight the mod you want to activate and click the button so that the mod transfers to the other window. I presume you know how to set up your SH4 directory and where to place your mods. Be careful to the order in which you activate the mods as if 2 mods alter the same information the latter one will overwrite the former, sometimes resulting in problems. It's best to read the documentation as most modders will give instructions on installation.

Hope this helps.

thanks a lot smile

well, I know how to set up the mods but what I wanted to know is which athmosphermic mods like "pacific environments" are top of the line currently and how such a mod would fit into the sequence of the mod activation;
for RFB I know that I need a base version, some patches and then the current update;
but where and when do I insert something like the PE mod if I want a current install?

whats your JSGME setup with TMO?
maybe I give this one a try as well smile

cheers

As the creator of the RFB mod, I can tell you that the latest release of the Pacific Environment mod is integrated in RFB.
