Joystick curves = great happiness.
All going rather well, isn't it?
Cheers,
RD
PS Biggles07, gload to hear you are back in the virtual air again. You can fix the shimmering by forcing graphics settings from outside the game - various posts around here somewhere. Sorry to hear you still have TIR/MSFFB2 stutters...

I've never doubted them for a second. Have always been part of the, "Hang in there, it's going to get better," cheering section. Strange to hear that they thought everyone would be using cheap joysticks, though. Anyone who wanted RoF was going to be a die hard simmer who has been doing it for years, and has, if not the best, certainly a very good, setup. They imagined their client base being some guy holding a five dollar stick in his hand with two buttons and no throttle or rudders. Yet they made one of the most realistic combat flight sims I've ever seen. Odd thought process going on, there.

In Russia, the kinds of sticks we use and buy with abandon in the West is much less common. When I learned what they were using I was appalled, but that is what is available to them at their local stores. It's just a cultural thing going on. Jason

Cheers Rocket mate, yeah its going good now I can't fix the shimmering AFAIK as I have an ATI 4870X2, I think only the Nvidia guys can do that with Nhancer? Thats a definite second to the stuttering with the MSFFB stick and TrackIR though, its fine at altitude. I suppose no one gives a sh*t as long as their game is running well lol.....ah well, Human nature.

Strange to hear that they thought everyone would be using cheap joysticks, though. Function of living and working in the CIS. Average salary (with all the traps of using an average) is about 12K USD a year in Russia. Sure, some crazy Westeners will spend big money on a HOTAS, but surely most people don't have that sort of money to throw around! [edit] We care, Biggles. We just don't care enough.

Biggles, stutters are still being worked on, Neoqb have reported that they belive they have the solution and hope it will be included in the next patch.
Since 1.008 came out (with the excellent new terrain textures) I dont suffer from shimmering. Have you checked your antistropic filtering settings?

Realistic Smoke – at first, we intended to build a uniform system of physics. We did not launch it from the very beginning because it had a huge impact on PC performance. Your feedback informed us that this was a very coveted feature. The first aspect of new physics system will be smoke blowing in the wind. Its operation in-game will depend on various options set for a mission, such as wind strength, direction, gusts and turbulence. Have fun experimenting! Somehow this sounds like also a working windsock to me And I'm also hoping for the Flanders coast. Dobby

winkLOL Dart, tis true. But I myself am a Christian 'Power Empath'.....I actually began psycho-somatically experiencing Stigmata- The Wounds Of Christ when hearing of poor Tvrdi's stuttering woes, blood was dripping into my Cornflakes every morning for 12 days At Squid, cheers and its good to hear. Fingers crossed. I use "let application decide" in Control panel, and then max both AA and AF out in the ROF graphics settings. I had heard this was the way to go? I will try again to force them from control panel as it may be different with new drivers (9.9) and the new patch. Ultimately its my own fault for deserting Nvidia the first time in my life and going to the dark side. Never again.
