SHar82, that's a deal breaker for me, too. Is that the way it's going to be set up? It says that there is a simulation option, so I was hoping that meant you can take off and land.
Yeah, if it's that arcadish crap where the game ends after you've shot down the required number of planes, guess it won't make it to my harddrive either.

One of the most challenging part of flying is landing and taking off the airplane: In EVERY simulation mode, you should be able to do the mission from the engine start to the final landing... but it won't be as already said one of their staff member... so NO BUY for me.

What disturb me the most in simulation genre that years after years, we go to less and less features sacrified to the holy graphics.... I remember the depth of red baron, Jane's, Micropose and DID simulations.... the GOOD OLD TIME. I would die for some good remakes with their original simulation codes and today up to date graphisms. It would be a blast.

Lads, you have to realise something simple: This isn't Il-2.

Even if landings were included they would likely be automated or at least give the aircraft landing gear that are three times too strong. This game is a game, not a simulation and it is targeting a different audience.

However, they have included some features (like cockpit only modes) which give us back some of the gameplay features we know and love. But anyone who expects to have a similar experience to Il-2, but with better graphics should wait for SoW:BoB.

This whole take-off and landing debate is a little silly. Especially, given the console style missions and lack of a mission editor.

(Of course, I agree with you - and I use "lads" in a friendly, not condescending manner - and I'm not being sarcastic - and you shouldn't try to read between the lines - sigh)
